What is Singing bowls therapy
Singing Bowls Therapy is an ancient healing system. Singing bowls are used worldwide for meditation, relaxation, and personal well-being. These bowls are placed on or near the body and tapped gently with a felt mallet to make them resonate, vibrate, or sing, creating an entrancing energy. The soothing, gentle sound encourages deep states of relaxation and clarity.
Everything in the universe vibrates, and therefore makes some, kind of sound. Although we may not be able to hear all sounds with our ears, our skin, bones hear and feel the resonance of sound. Everything has a resonant frequency, and in relation to the human form, our bones, organs, and the chakras all possess a different resonant frequency and hold their own form of consciousness. And so, if one part of the body isn’t working optimally or feeling good, it would mean the vibration is out of tune, so to speak.
We call it having ‘dis-ease’. When a body is healthy, every cell, every organ, is creating a harmonious resonance with the entire being.
Vibrational healing is based on the idea that all illness or disease is characterised by a blockage in the channels on some level, whether it be the nadis, arteries, veins, nerves, and so on. Sound and light resonance can break-up, dissolve, and release these blockages.
Benefits of Sound therapy

It is understood that low frequency sounds are linked to relaxing brain states, while higher frequencies encourage alertness and focus. When we combine the right sounds in the right way, we can train the brain to behave in more effective ways to suit our needs.
This treatment quickly induces deep relaxation, energizes, stimulates mental clarity, and creates a feeling of lightness. Enhance creative and conscious expansion; memory and intuition enhancement; inner and outer alignment awakening; aura cleansing, boosting, and balancing; and an increase in our abilities to love, forgive, trust, heal and grow.
If the recipient is in good health, this therapy can support their inner harmony and provide strength for everyday tasks, while boosting creativity and productivity. With physical and emotional issues, singing bowl therapy helps bring relief from pain and anxiety. This therapy can also help in recovery from addictions, migraine headaches, PMS symptoms, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental stress.
Researchers have found that sound waves affect the human nervous system and decrease blood pressure more than traditional meditation. There is also new research on the benefits of binaural beats, which is when two tones at slightly different frequencies are played in unison.
Stress is at the root of many diseases – emotional well-being and physical health are indivisible. It’s believed that sound from the bowls train the brain to move into deeper brain wave frequencies which induce meditative, peaceful states and clarity of mind. It’s important to remember that singing bowl therapy uses sound as a way to trigger the healing mechanisms in the body. Singing bowls facilitate our own process of growth and healing but have no ability to heal on their own – they need us to perform their function. The bowls vibrate, we do the rest.
